Protect your end-point power distribution with a Residual Current Device

Jan 19, 2026

Policy

Thai policy requires that new residential and commercial buildings must install RCDs (Residual Current Devices) on the end circuits (such as bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor sockets) to monitor leakage current in real time and prevent equipment damage and fires.

Market pain points

1. Bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor sockets pose a high risk of leakage current. Electric shock can cause serious injury within seconds. Customers need a protective device that can cut off power in a very short time, something ordinary circuit breakers cannot do.

2. Aging wiring, insulation damage, and equipment failure can all lead to accumulated leakage current, eventually causing fires. Traditional protection methods cannot detect leakage current, therefore there is a strong market demand for RCDs (Residual Current Devices) that can provide early warning or cut off power.

3. In factories and commercial buildings, equipment such as air conditioners, water pumps, and production lines can suffer high repair costs and downtime losses if damaged by leakage current. RCDs can effectively prevent equipment burnout caused by leakage current, reducing maintenance costs.

4. More and more countries (including Thailand, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East) are beginning to mandate the installation of RCDs in residential, commercial, and industrial locations. Customers must install compliant residual current protection devices to pass inspections, avoid fines, and meet insurance requirements.
